Stoke is building the world’s most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.
Description
Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A key ingredient to making the construction of such reusable systems feasible and efficient is a set of high-quality and well-prepared facilities for design, manufacturing, and testing. As the Facility and Maintenance Lead, you will be tasked with orchestrating facility upgrade and maintenance projects at our two Kent locations. You will be sculpting our physical space into a testament of efficiency and functionality. You will independently plan, manage, and complete multi-trade projects on-time and on-budget while sourcing and directing external contractors to ensure the evolving needs of the company are met. Working closely with management and stakeholders, you will use your construction and mechanical knowledge to cut cost and lead time.
You will utilize your mechanical and maintenance knowledge and experience to guide the development of our maintenance program and implement preventative maintenance schedules and a strategic initiative that minimizes downtime and maximizes equipment lifespan. You will conduct regular inspections, diagnose issues, and execute effective repairs on both the facility and equipment. Lastly, your attention to detail in adhering to regulations ensures that our facility not only operates efficiently, but also upholds the highest levels of safety for our team.
*This role is contract to hire after a period of 60 days.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address facility and equipment needs
- Collect and summarize requirements into statements of work and construction contracts
- Plan and execute facility expansion, building upgrades, and maintenance projects
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and perform regular maintenance on the facility and equipment
- Develop and implement inspection and TPM schedules
- Respond promptly to facility and equipment breakdowns
- Function as state/local regulatory compliance liaison
- Source, install, and maintain/modify facility resources and equipment
- Manage utility contracts and identify cost/offering improvements
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, promoting a safe and secure working environment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environments, preferably aerospace
- Proficient knowledge of electrical, plumbing, structural, and manufacturing equipment
- Strong history of successful project planning, execution, & completion
- Understanding of and adherence to building and safety codes
- Ability to operate forklifts and scissor lifts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work second shift and weekends or be on call as needed
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight space
- Valid WA driver’s license
Compensation
$40 - $50/hour with overtime on approval
