Maxar is currently seeking engineering students to join our 2024 summer intern program in Palo Alto, California. EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) engineering is comprised of various roles that contribute to the development, production, and test of satellites in AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test). These roles design, implement, and deliver ground test equipment to support all spacecraft test phases. In addition, they develop and generate supporting documentation for the department in the form of work instructions, test procedures, manufacturing standards, and EGSE specifications. All roles involve significant collaboration with interdisciplinary teams from multiple subsystems.

Our 12-week internship program provides students with hands-on experience in a variety of disciplines. From spacecraft design to robotics to data science, Maxar offers opportunities to gain valuable skills and mentorship by working with cutting-edge technologies and industry-leading experts on real missions. Minimum requirements: 

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident 

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with completion of 2 years or more, or currently enrolled in a master's degree program in electrical, electronics, aerospace, mechanical design, materials, or industrial engineering or related discipline. 

These skills would be amazing: 

• Familiarity with design or CAD software 
• Familiarity with Office tools 
• Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment 

• Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills 
• Debugging and trouble-shooting skills

The salary range listed is based on two years of completed studies.  This range will vary based on the number of years of experience and work location.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$26.00 - $26.00 hourly.
