Maxar is currently seeking a Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Student to join our 2024 summer intern program in Pasadena, CA. Manufacturing Engineering is comprised of various roles that contribute to Assembly of Robotic Arm, Manufacturing of component and ground support equipment. These roles have input on Design for Manufacturability, supplier selection, Fabrication Method, Assembly and Integration. All roles involve significant collaboration with other departments including Engineering, Quality, and Ops personnel (Technician, Machinists,...)

This is a requisition for summer of 2024 intern position with involvement in continuous improvement activities pertaining to our MES (Manufacturing Execution Software), Ops process and Manufacturing Engineering.

Minimum requirements for this position:

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with completion of 2 years or more, or currently enrolled in a Master's degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

These skills would be amazing:

Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
Familiarity with Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, Drawing Interpretation
Familiarity with Root Cause and Corrective Action Implementation processes
Basic knowledge of Machining Processes (Turning, Milling, Surface Coating,…)

Some experience or exposure to Aerospace/Space is desirable

The salary range listed is based on two years of completed studies. This range will vary based on the number of years of experience and work location.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$26.00 - $26.00 hourly.
