We’re on the hunt for a Business Development Manager on our team at our Montreal office.

As the leading global independent commercial supplier of antennas, payloads, and electronics for communication and radar satellites, our team has successfully contributed to hundreds of missions in the past 60 years. With an extensive heritage in a wide range of solutions delivered to customers globally, our Satellite Systems team continues to grow and evolve on the ground and in the stars.   • Builds and maintains strong relationships at all levels of the customer organization at both the management and technical level.
  • Delivers MDA’s capabilities and culture to customers and partners at meetings, conferences, workshops, trade shows and customer sites.
  • Engages with customers to identify, evaluate and develop business opportunities that will contribute to the MDA’s short and long-term business goals through new sales, orders, and contracts.
  • Monitors customer budgets, past, current and future programs and upcoming RFPs.
  • Identifies key customer issues, winning strategies and recommended target prices.
  • Interact with in country Canadian Government organizations (Canadian Embassy, EDC, CSA, DND).
  • Creates market and account strategies.
  • Develops marketing material.
  • Presents account plans and pursuit plans to senior management.
  • Works closely with Capture Managers to ensure competitive and responsive proposals that meet the customer’s need.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant technical and business fields
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Team player and demonstrated high level of integrity
  • Demonstrates creativity in developing winning solutions.
  • Works well in a dynamic environment where some of the parameters are unknown and some change regularly.
  • Must have previous experience in business development in the space industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, other languages an asset.
  • Has good knowledge of relevant technologies, products, services and methods.
  • Excellent industry and market awareness.
  • Able to travel

 

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • MBA, International business studies an asset.
