As part of a hardworking team of diverse Supply Chain Engineers, you will enable and support the application of critical hardware in the design of ground equipment, engines, launch vehicles, and in-space projects. Armed with a technical understanding of capabilities in the supply base, you will be the voice of manufacturability to bridge the gap between internal program engineering and Blue Origin’s critical supplier partners. You will support engineering functions in the design process and procurement functions in supplier award decisions.
Accountabilities include working closely with suppliers to resolve technical issues and to develop and sustain suitable manufacturing processes to satisfy part and program requirements. You will own technical risk identification and mitigation strategies at the supplier. This includes being the first on-site at the supplier to engage and facilitate failure investigations and RCCA activity as needed. This position will engage with multiple commodities across all Blue Origin business units. Recovering or maintaining critical schedules and ensuring requirement conformance by mitigating technical obstacles in the supply base will be the focus of your efforts. Strong creative problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills are critical traits of a successful candidate. This position collaborates with the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain Engineering, Metallic Forms and will focus in areas of machining, welding, metal forming, and fabrication.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university
- Level 3 role requirement: 5+ years of related experience
- Able to support 25% travel
- Proven understanding of engineering fundamentals for design and manufacturing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to articulate technical topics to non-subject matter experts
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment including machining, welding, metal forming, and/or fabrication
- Experience interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Per ASME Y14.5
- Practical knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process
- Ability to learn, grow and address new challenges in a fast-paced environment
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Aerospace Experience
- Experience in Statement of Work (SOW) generation
- Experience performing supplier assessments
