LeoLabs was founded in 2016 as a venture-funded spinout of Silicon Valley research pioneer, SRI International, by scientists and space industry veterans committed to securing Low Earth Orbit (LEO). LeoLabs is built on 30+ years of R&D in radar systems and satellite tracking algorithms. The team is rapidly expanding its global radar network and data services platform to help satellite operators deploy their services safely and to empower governmental space agencies with detailed visibility into the LEO ecosystem. The Opportunity 
At LeoLabs, the FP&A Manager will be critical in providing strategic financial guidance to LeoLabs leadership team and planning for the future state of the business. We are looking for a strong leader with exceptional analytical skills, an effective communicator, who is passionate about driving change in a dynamic fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for:
 
• Leading beyond budgeting and planning - be a thought leader and trusted partner with the leadership team to drive strategic initiatives
• Develop an in-depth understanding of key business drivers of the various functions and communicate how these drivers impact the strategic and financial future of the company
• Assist in developing and executing the quarterly and annual financial planning and review
• Manage software capitalization process, developing a scalable process, and ensuring appropriate accounting controls are maintained
• Partner with the Accounting team to perform month-end close activities and help drive process improvements and efficiencies in the close process
• Contribute to forecast, budget and long-range planning cycles, including enhancing LeoLab’s corporate model and coordinating with stakeholders on assumptions & inputs
• Gather, consolidate, and analyze operating and financial results, including preparing internal and external reporting deliverables and analyzing and explaining trends & drivers
• Assist with management, Board business, and financial planning, including presentations and key analysis requests
• Serve as a key liaison and partner to cross-functional teams, including Finance, Accounting, IT, and other teams to drive scalable analyses and insights
• Assist with ad hoc strategic and operational projects as required
 
Qualifications 
• Have 6+ years of work experience, with at least 3 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, or corporate development a plus
• Be able to build trust with stakeholders and senior leaders across the organization and drive results through soft skills, not through mandates
• Have extensive competency in building and auditing sophisticated financial models and large data sets
• Be entrepreneurial and have an enthusiastic "get stuff done" mentality
• Be able to expertly balance the need to deliver accurate data and insights that drive focused action with the speed and fast-paced nature of LeoLabs
• Thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving, and high-intensity environments
• Comfortable with building models independently
• Experience with NetSuite
 
Within 1 month, you’ll:
• Complete our onboarding program designed to get you up to speed on our business, vision and team
• Gain an understanding about how your role fits into LeoLabs broader organization, meet with the various functional leaders to understand their budgeting needs for FY’24
• Familiarize yourself with and take over operating of the existing financial model
 
Within 3 months, you’ll:
• Recommend and negotiate FP&A software to transition the model from, that integrates with our  existing Netsuite platform
• Migrate the model to the FP&A platform
• Build a monthly BvA process with the Accounting Team 
 
Within 6 months, you’ll: 
• Have fully functional model migrated to the new Software Platform
• Built functional budgets for each functional leader, including regular check-ins and updates
• Pro-actively be a thought partner for your functional leads on their budgeting needs
• Build out planning collateral to support the business, i.e. specifically the hardware and radar teams
 
Within 12 months, you’ll: 
• Create the FY’25 Planning process
• Make regular effectiveness and efficiency recommendations to your functional leads
 
Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location. The compensation range for this position $165,000 - 190,000

ITAR REQUIREMENTS
To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. More information regarding ITAR can be found at DDTC’s website here.
