Software Application Engineer

SUMMARY: The Software Application Engineer plays a crucial role in our organization, taking ownership of the seamless integration of business data systems. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable business applications.
• Interface with APIs to extract and manipulate data to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address complex business needs.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Thorough knowledge of systems design, scripting development, implementation, user support principles and practices
• Catalog up to date documentation on Application Specification, Requirements, and architectural design documents  
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance development processes.

Education & Experience

• S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics or Engineering
• Minimum 2 Years of application development experience in an enterprise environment 
• Demonstrated expertise in calling data from APIs and manipulating it for diverse business use cases.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, or C#.
• Strong core development skills and understanding of software engineering principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Experience delivering software in an enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with performing work in an Agile environment preferred. 
• Experience with Appian and/or Alteryx preferred but not required.

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements 

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
• Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

 Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).

• Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
