Job description

As a Propulsion Development Engineer you will work on all aspects of propulsion component and system development while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high performance in-space propulsion system from a clean sheet design. 

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of propulsion component and/or system development 
  • Work with the design and manufacturing teams to produce hardware 
  • Ensure that the performance and function of the hardware meets intent 
  • Test preparation, planning and execution 
  • Resolve technical issues with innovative and scrappy solutions 
  • Deliver qualified hardware to the point of spacecraft integration 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related field
  • Proficiency in basic principles of fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics and materials 
  • Hands-on experience working with fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems  
  • Experience with CAD to design hardware 
  • Demonstrated ability in conceptual design, fabrication and testing of hardware 
  • Demonstrated ability of taking project ownership and working well in small teams 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with analysis programming such as MATLAB, Python, Excel, etc. 
  • Prior experience in liquid rocket propulsion development and/or testing 
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
