Job description

As a Propulsion Development Engineer you will work on all aspects of propulsion component and system development while working closely with a fast-paced, agile team that strives to make a high performance in-space propulsion system from a clean sheet design.

Responsibilities

Own all aspects of propulsion component and/or system development
Work with the design and manufacturing teams to produce hardware
Ensure that the performance and function of the hardware meets intent
Test preparation, planning and execution
Resolve technical issues with innovative and scrappy solutions
Deliver qualified hardware to the point of spacecraft integration

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related field
Proficiency in basic principles of fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics and materials
Hands-on experience working with fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems
Experience with CAD to design hardware
Demonstrated ability in conceptual design, fabrication and testing of hardware
Demonstrated ability of taking project ownership and working well in small teams

Preferred Skills and Experience

Familiarity with analysis programming such as MATLAB, Python, Excel, etc.
Prior experience in liquid rocket propulsion development and/or testing
Experience in a startup or agile development environment

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
