Description
As the Senior Counsel and Senior Director, Space Flight Policy at Stoke Space, you will balance your time between serving as internal counsel for legal affairs and working with external regulatory bodies to enable Stoke launch operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with VP BD, VP Government Affairs, and Launch Site Director, develop the Stoke regulatory strategy, ensuring alignment with the company objectives and technical milestones.
- Interface with external regulatory agencies such as FAA AST and the FCC to ensure a smooth process for obtaining required licenses for Stoke launch operations.
- Write technical narratives to substantiate means of compliance and descriptions of analysis methodology to support Stoke’s license applications per 14 CFR Part 450.
- Contribute to systems engineering data products for the launch system such as system safety analyses, flight safety analysis, and requirements decomposition and verification.
- Serve as liaison to external counsel and provide internal legal counsel for a wide variety of Stoke affairs, including (but not limited to) export/ITAR, IP, real estate, employee, insurance, and construction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional, relevant working experience in the space policy and legal industry.
- Proficiency working with interdisciplinary technical teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
- Demonstrated experience working with government agencies to demonstrate regulatory compliance, particularly in the commercial launch industry.
- Ability to lead.

Compensation Range
- $160,000 - $220,000
