 Configuration and Data Management (CADM)- Configuration Administrator  

Perimeter of competence needed

The activity will cover overall Thales Alenia Space CADM area of activity.

CADM (Configuration & Data Management) discipline main goal is to provide consistency, reproducibility and traceability during the lifecycle of a product or a project. Configuration & Data Management team in Thales Alenia Space is composed by around 120 people located in several countries.

Educational Level

Preferential asset is High School Diploma in technical and scientific disciplines

The knowledge of Configuration Management discipline is a plus

Languages: Italian (mother tongue), mandatory the knowledge of English (fluent) and a good knowledge of French

CA (Configuration Administrator) role description

He/she is responsible for recording, releasing configuration information/documentation (Engineering, Industry & Deployment, Customer Service…), being also responsible for the integrity of the configuration records, of their traceability and history. He/she is an advanced user of the PLM system. In this capacity, CA is responsible in the frame of the following main operational activities:

  • DATA MANAGE INTO A TOOL which implies the following tasks:
  • the registration and release of configuration data ( signature workflows, classification and distribution).
  • the support of any documentary flow in terms of integrity, validity and maintenance of configuration records, history and traceability across the whole lifecycle
  • the verification of internal and external CM data (definition, recording, traceability);
  • assures the availability of up-to-date recorded technical data;
  • maintain up to date the setup of the PLM in term of accessibility, security policies and end-to end registration of data
  • he/she is responsible for archiving obsolete technical data.
  • Work in strong cooperation with the Configuration Manager and translates the Configuration Manager decisions in the tool as required/needed;
  • she/he contributes to process and tools improvement, coaching of peers and new tool end-users specific activities;

  • EXCHANGE OF DATA WITH CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS
    • Data Packages production and delivery to support the Program reviews, in accordance to the contract DRL
    • Management of incoming Data Packages from the Customers and subcontractors
  • Be part of the definition of the best tools for data exchange (sFTP, Eclipse, Exchanger, ECM)
  • Be responsible for data exchange using appropriate tools
  • Maintain recording /traceability of exchange in the PLM
