We’re on the hunt for a Systems Communications Payload AIT Specialist on our Satellite systems team at our Montreal office.

Role :

The Systems Communications Payload AIT Specialist will be responsible for RF and Electrical system AIT design, performance analysis, Test Plans & Test Methods definitions, EGSEs definition, implementation and testing in support of MDA Telecommunication advanced payloads.

Tasks :

  • Define & Write engineering documentations: Test Plans, system test requirements, SOC, verification and validation matrix, design description,
  • Participate in cross-functional teams
  • Production of relevant EGSE documentation, as needed
  • Payload assembly Integration and Test
  • Attend test reviews: TRR, TRB, DRB, and NCR’s
  • Support Payload testing: EGSE, Test supervision, data analysis
  • Support Satellite tests at S/C supplier premises
  • Support In-Orbit Test (IOT)
  • Write up Payload Operations Manual

Required Qualifications :

  • Engineering degree in relevant field and 5+ years of experience in AIT, testing Electronic systems and communications payloads (Digital - Transparent or Regenerative - and Analog)
  • The knowledge of Direct Radiating Array (DRA) Antenna with multiple active elements and knowledge of digital modulations, signal processing and Networking will be considered favorably.
  • English required, French fluency would be an asset
  • Extensive experience with laboratory instrumentation such as:
    • Performance Network analyzer
    • High sampling oscilloscope
    • Spectrum analyzer
    • Arbitrary waveform generator
    • Modems
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing theory
  • Knowledge/experience in the following programming languages:
    • MATLAB
    • Python
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as:
    • CANbus
    • SpaceWire
    • SPI serial link
  • Good personal, written and verbal communication skills

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
