Vast is looking for a Senior University Recruiter, reporting to the Senior Manager, Recruiting, to support the strategy development and execution of recruiting programs to attract and recruit early career talent for Vast. You will handle full-cycle recruiting for our internship and full-time recruiting for early career talent, and will have a direct impact on building Vast’s brand as the employer of choice among student communities.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead Vast’s university strategies to build our on-campus talent brand to attract diverse talent across engineering, manufacturing, and business roles
  • Execute virtual and on-campus events to attract top early talent, including, but not limited to, job fairs, tech talks, student projects, and virtual events
  • Work closely with our partners DS4A, InRoads, and Girls Who Code on Fellowship recruiting
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with universities, faculty, school clubs and organizations, career services, and the City of Long Beach for early career talent pipeline and partnership opportunities
  • Extend, negotiate, and close offers for new graduate and intern candidates
  • Collaborate with the People team on offers that require accommodations or considerations
  • Partner closely with our brand & marketing team on recruiting events strategies, swag ordering, etc. 
  • Assist People Operations and Talent Development team in program coordination of intern cohorts
  • Partner with recruiters and Talent Development on inclusivity strategies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a University Recruiter, Talent Scout or Sourcer, Technical Sourcing experience

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Event and Program Management experience preferred 
  • Experience processing candidates through Applicant Tracking Systems 
  • A passion for providing an exceptional candidate experience 
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive information with tact
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Passion for early career programs and building a bridge from student communities to the workplace

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 40% during peak recruiting season and work flexible hours when needed 
  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted

Pay Range: 

  • University Recruiter II: $94,000 - $135,000
  • University Recruiter III: $113,000 - $160,000

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. This status includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and asylees and refugees with such status granted, not pending.
