Duties

  • Duties described below are at the full-performance level. Duties assigned at a lower grade level will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
  • Interface with Space Technology Mission Directorate Flight Opportunities program (Program Executives, Program Managers) and other STMD programs to stay well-informed in order to manage the communication of the program’s strategic objectives.
  • Engage with Program Campaign Managers and Technology Managers regularly to relay programmatic, communications, and strategic information to those teams.
  • Develop an awareness of the technologies and research efforts that are brought into the program and the institution of flight testing as those payloads progress through the program.
  • Receive and manage multiple, disparate streams of incoming technical and programmatic information. Organize information into reasonable approaches of distribution and resolve how information is best distributed for maximum effectiveness.
  • Ensure the program maintains impact within multiple technology communities through interaction with NASA mission directorates and programs, consortiums, and other relevant institutions.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level:
  • Participating in the development of program communication products for leadership to deliver briefings to stakeholders internal and external for an agency;
  • Identifying and documenting areas of improvement of technology maturation program processes; and
  • Monitoring the execution of technology maturation program to inform the program manager of status.

To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
  • Developing program communication products for leadership to deliver briefings to stakeholders internal and external for an agency;
  • Analyzing technology maturation program processes to identify areas for improvements and recommend solutions to
    stakeholders; and
  • Communicating status of space technology maturation program execution to program staff and leadership.
