Turion Space Corp. (TURION) is a dynamic and innovative space technology company driving resilent space solutions to unleash the economic potential of space. TURION is seeking an Enterprise System Architect to join our team in Irvine, CA and accelerate the deployment of our on-demand space mobility services. As a System Architect you will play a pivotal role by shaping and implementing our technology strategy to meet the evolving needs of the space industry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient IT systems and processes. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and maintain an IT architecture strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy, ensuring that technology investments support business objectives.
  • System Design: Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient IT systems, considering factors such as performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to understand business needs and drive the development of technology solutions that meet those needs.
  • Standards and Best Practices: Establish and enforce IT architecture standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate technology-related risks, ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
  • Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and recommending adoption where appropriate.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of IT architectures, processes, and solutions.
  • Governance: Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure that IT solutions align with architectural guidelines and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect, or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise IT architecture principles and best practices, especially middleware Architecture and Restful API's.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience with a variety of technology platforms, including cloud services, databases, middleware and networking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to others.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Data Factory, Zachman) are a plus.
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines 
  • An active Top-Secret security clearance, or ability to obtain one, is desired but not required.

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. 
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at Turion. ITAR REQUIREMENTS: 
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
