We are looking for a Micro-Electromechanical Assembler Apprentice to our Satellite Systems team in our Montreal office.

Role:
The main role is to assemble micro-electromechanical products according to structured work processes. Some analysis is required before independently choosing from known processes.
Tasks:
- Fixing by brazing on substrate, substrate selection, measurement of electrical components.
- Make joints and electrical contacts by welded wires or tapes (microwiring, parallel welding and microbeams).
- Attach substrates to a base or housing using a pre-programmed oven.
- Attach components to a base or circuit.
- Prepare components for encapsulation.
- Prepare, handle and use polymeric products for bonding components.
- Sealing and leak testing of housings.
- Use equipment for sorting hybrids.
- Mount elements in enclosures.
- Verify the product.
- Inspect, verify and validate the compliance of certain tasks performed by colleagues.
- Support research and development.
- All other related tasks
Minimum qualifications required:
- DEC or DEP in one of the following fields: electronics, mechanics or equivalent
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of English, an asset
- Plan readings
- Basic knowledge of the principle of geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Ability to retrieve and enter data using a computer system.
- Working with production databases.
- The holder has the basic knowledge to operate one or more manual and semi-automatic micro-electronic assembly equipment.
- Good knowledge of French.
- Fine manual dexterity
Special considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass the security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
