Payload and Ground Systems Division of the Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Test Automation Software Engineer to be responsible for design, development, and maintenance of various test automation tools for our space payload products.

Responsibilities for a Test Automation Engineer include test software development and deployment, testing and troubleshooting of the test environment, reading error logs, and coordinate corrective actions with the product development team.  Additional responsibilities may include an understanding of test plans, test procedures, test automation, test reports, and execution of integration test activities in System Integration Labs (SILs) or offsite locations.

Some examples of test software that you will be designing include factory test scripts for individual RF and digital circuit cards, design verification test (DVT) scripts for individual cards and integrated payloads, peripheral component emulators and simulators, data processing and visualization scripts.

The position requires candidates to be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance which requires United States Citizenship.

Up to $15k sign on bonus for qualified candidates ($10k for Active/Current TS/SCI with additional $5k for poly)

Required Qualifications:

  • For Principal Level: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant professional work experience OR Master's degree and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • For Sr. Principal Level: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 9 years of relevant professional work experience OR Master's degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive experience developing test automation scripts in Python
  • Experience developing test scripts to interface with RF test equipment
  • Working knowledge of Robot Framework
  • Working knowledge of source control tools
  • Experience developing in a hybrid Linux/Windows environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI, which requires U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active or Current Top Secret clearance with SCI
  • Developing of test GUIs in Python or C++
  • Working knowledge of C/C++
  • Experience developing design verification tests for RF systems based on system requirements
  • Experience analyzing test data and generating system test reports
  • Working knowledge of requirements management tools (DOORs, Jama, etc)
  • Working knowledge of Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Salary Range: $90,600.00 - $136,000.00Salary Range 2: $112,300.00 - $168,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
