Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Lab Technician. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
- Support PRS/RV laboratory test plans. This includes but is not limited to; installation/removal of hardware and line replaceable units (LRU), building to drawings, executing work orders, manufacturing lab cables and harnesses, troubleshooting, document and report defects as required, etc.
- Work with Management, Lab Operations, and Designers to ensure the lab is built and maintained to the correct specifications needed for formal test and daily lab operations.
- Work with lab management to ensure the PRS/RV laboratory is compliant with all security, safety, SDS, and other program directives.
- Comply with all corporate and laboratory safety and security policies.
- Travel, as required, in support of Sentinel requirement verification.
- Construct simple test fixtures and perform minor repairs or modifications to test fixtures such as drilling and tapping holes, and wiring and soldering components and component parts as directed by engineer or higher classified personnel.
- Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation.
- Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.
- Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. May analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection.
- Performs technical procedures in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.
- Work closely with other IPT’s (Integrated Product Teams), Design Engineering IPT’s, Configuration Management, Systems Engineering, and Technical Publication Writing/Editing teams.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Must have knowledge of electronic principles, the ability to wire and assemble circuits and understand the operation of basic test equipment.
- Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years).
- Previously approved for special access programs (SAP).
- J-STD-001 Certified.
- IPC-610 Certified.
- WHMA-620 Certified.
- Experience in fabricating test cables.
