Maxar is looking for a Data Engineer or Senior Data Engineer to join our data intelligence team out of our Westminster, CO office. In this role you will develop high quality, resilient data solutions and pipelines.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support scalable, reliable cloud data solutions
• Develop high-quality, resilient data pipelines and business solutions
• Analyze and interpret data from diverse systems for reporting applications
• Validate data and maintain healthy services and data flows

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a U. S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
• Minimum of 3 years of technical experience
• Minimum of 3 years experience with SQL including complex queries, SQL tuning, CTEs
• Demonstrated experience modeling data with SQL
• minimum of 2 years experience with Python
• Demonstrated experience building rigorous testing of data pipelines and solutions
• Demonstrated history of exploring and learning new technologies quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance
• Experience with software development
• Experience with GIS analysis
• Experience using PostGIS
• Experience with any of the following: Python, Apache-Hive, Trino, Presto, Starburst, Apache-Parquet, Apache-Iceberg, OpenMetadata, Apache-SuperSet, Terraform, dbt, Tableau, Fivetran, Airflow
• Experience implementing resilient, scalable, and supportable systems in AWS
• Experience using a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services
• Experience developing Complex, multi-step ETLs including DAG creation and scheduling in tools such as Airflow
• Experience using containerization systems like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience building and/or using data APIs

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$79,000.00 - $131,000.00 annually.
