Software Engineer (f/m/d)

Start Date: May 2024 
Location: Darmstadt, Germany 
Working hours: full time, 40h/week 
Requirement: EU citizenship 

We are currently seeking to employ a motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineer to support our Service Team for EUMETSAT. The main objective will be to provide technical support to the Monitoring & Control Applications and Tools department.

• Be responsible for the maintenance of the various operations preparation tools 
• Define and implement the roadmap for the tools 
• Manage the application lifecycle and related infrastructure
• Preserve and update documentation using the relevant knowledge management infrastructure
• Support the procurement of the tools 
• Offer engineering and user support expertise to the different users

• A degree in Aerospace engineering or in a similar subject
• Experience with software development in Java, C++, or other OOP languages
• Good knowledge of the space field
• Ability to manage parallel tasks and context switches
• Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
• The knowledge of the applications used at EUMETSAT would be highly desirable
