As a Contamination Control Engineer in the Specialty Systems Engineering group working in Special Programs - Remote Sensing, you’ll work on a broad range of projects, in an operations environment, that will challenge you to learn and grow in your career. The RS Specialty Contamination team provides subject matter expertise to technical engineering, payload operations, satellite processing support, and support operations to LM Remote Sensing programs. In addition, you will be a part of the LM Space Contamination Control Engineering (CCE) team and may support programs at any portion of the spacecraft lifecycle. Working side by side with designers, test and manufacturing engineers, you’ll use your education, experience and growing expertise to develop and evaluate new technology to survive in the most hostile of environments

In this role you will:
• Provide support to SPLOB Remote Sensing programs by analyzing test data, and other engineering duties.
• Perform Contamination Control technical engineering assignments
• Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
• Coordinate with other teams such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement

Basic Qualifications:
• Contamination, materials or process related background and/or field of study
• Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition experience
• Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates
• Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance (requires US Citizenship)
Desired Skills:
• Experience with cleanrooms, precision cleaning, materials testing, or thermal vacuum test
• Understanding and application of IEST-STD-CC1246, ISO-14644, ASTM E 1548, analytical laboratory equipment or techniques that apply to specialized contamination monitoring equipment and tools
• Top Secret or SCI clearance, or a successful Single Scope Background Investigation
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Experience implementing contamination control for space applications or related field
• Experience with precision cleaning of hardware or producing verification products for government customers
• Knowledge of Materials and Processes for product development, improvement, design, application and production
• Understanding and experience with system level Integration and Test including environmental requirements related to the assembly of the LM Space Vehicle.
• Ability to create and update instructions and procedures in Automation Framework
• Familiar with the Special Programs – Remote Sensing customers
• Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $67,400 - $129,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $77,600 - $146,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
