The Boeing Space Launch System (SLS) program is seeking a broad range of experience levels, including Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Manufacturing Engineers for wire harness design and testing (weetech testing) to join the team in located in New Orleans, LA or Kennedy Space Center, FL.
The engineer will be responsible for performing analyses, developing test procedures and test documents per NASA-STD 8739.4, conducting harness tests and troubleshooting. The engineer will also provide expertise to design and modification efforts of harness being developed throughout both sections of SLS program (Core Stage and Exploration Upper Stage). The position in New Orleans will require up to 25% of travel and the position in the Kennedy Space Center will require up to 50% of travel.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, to grow and mentor the next generation of engineers. In addition, this will guide the candidates’ career towards the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the Boeing Technical Fellowship.
Position Responsibilities:
Design and release of flight harness Continuity, Dielectric Withstanding Voltage (DWV), and Insulation Resistance (IR) test software (test Scripts)
Design and release of flight harness RF (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) and Insertion Loss (IL) test software (test Scripts)
Design and release of flight harness 1553 Data Bus Polarity test software (test Scripts)
Design and release of flight harness test procedure documents
Design and release of new flight harness test adapter drawings for both SLS program (CS&EUS)
Provide support to the test technicians when they are dealing with flight harness anomalies (failures) and troubleshooting
Perform ongoing monitoring (Calibration & diagnostics) of the Automated Harness Analyzer, RF and 1553 Data-bus hardware/equipment items
Implementing, tracking and measure the daily testing schedule, progress and process report for flight harness testing
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.
This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree in a Technical Field (i.e. engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or similar)
Experience reading and interpreting wire harness diagrams and installation schematics
Programming skills in scripting languages, C++, C#
Capable of traveling 25% of the time
Typical Education / Experience:
Associate (Level 2):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (Level 3):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4):
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: $75,650 – $102,350
Summary pay range for mid-level level: $90,100 – $121,900
Summary pay range for senior level: $109,650 – $148,350
