Job Summary
We are seeking highly motivated interns to join our world-class team for the summer of 2024 and help create the future of affordable, high-reliability space systems. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated practical problem-solving experience in their hobbies, academic projects, and/or previous internships.
As a Spacecraft Systems Engineering Intern, you will be directly involved in efforts supporting the development of spacecraft systems serving a range of missions and customers. This includes creating, monitoring and guiding requirements definition, spacecraft design, procurement and fabrication, integration and test, and verification and validation of the overall space vehicle system. You will interact with subsystem and unit engineers, manufacturing and test personnel, and program management. You will support the team's systems engineers addressing technical elements of the space vehicle system. Our spacecraft systems engineers create spacecraft -- not just paperwork.

Job Responsibilities;
Interns can anticipate being involved in any number of the following systems engineering activities:
- Analyzing mission objectives to determine spacecraft system requirements
- Analyzing orbits and trajectories to fulfill mission objectives
- Developing spacecraft CONOPS and design reference missions
- Performing quantitative trade analyses, make-buy analyses and vendor selections
- Decomposing, allocating and defining spacecraft, subsystem, and unit requirements
- Tracking Technical Performance Metrics for systems and subsystems
- Creating and maintaining critical budgets (e.g. mass, power, propulsion, link, etc.)
- Creating launch vehicle, payload, and ground interface control documents
- Creating and reviewing materials for design and readiness reviews
- Creating test procedures
- Tracking and resolving discrepancies during development and integration and test
- Supporting assembly, integration and test activities
- Tracking requirements verification and validation
- Other Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering or other relevant engineering or science discipline
- Applicants must be returning to school following the end of their summer internship
- Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience with detailed space systems engineering
- Demonstrated experience with requirements analysis and flow-down
- Demonstrated experience with satellite level integration and test processes
Compensation:
We’re excited to offer a competitive compensation package for this paid internship. All summer interns will also receive a bi-weekly stipend throughout their tenure here.
