Responsibilities: 

  • Designing packaging for spacecraft avionics
  • Analyzing designs to verify compliance with thermal and vibration requirements
  • Knowledge of space flight requirements, standards, and environments is a definite advantage.
  • Working with vendors to manufacture hardware
  • Specifying mechanical constraints on PCB layouts
  • Documenting designs
  • Working with Subject Experts to complete complex designs for both digital and RF systems
  • Writing reports and presentations and contributing to proposals

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.     
  • 1-2 years of related work experience 
  • The ideal candidate would be familiar with mechanical design, structural analysis, thermal design and analysis, material selection, and EMI design considerations as they pertain to electronics and avionics in extreme environments. 
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks is required 
  • Familiarity with PCB layout is desired
  • Familiarity with space and satellite environment and their effects on mechanical structures and thermal dissipation is an advantage.

 

Salary Range: $

 

ITAR REQUIREMENT 

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
