Job Description Qualifications:

    The Senior Chief Engineer for this program will be the senior technical engineer and technical authority leading all technical aspects of the rapid space program to include product definition, validation, software and systems engineering, design integration, and test and evaluation, and certification for the Boeing team and all associated supplier work content.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • The product responsibilities include the platform, mission systems, avionics, controls, structures, and support elements.

    • Developing and executing the Engineering long term strategy to drive engineering discriminators on these key programs while demonstrating long term affordability.

    • Deriving product and technology insertion roadmaps from Strategic Plan (LRBP) across the programs in support of affordability and competitiveness.

    • Senior technical interface to the RSC customers and suppliers.

    • Implementing and enforcing engineering functional excellence in people, processes, tools, and practices; driving successful integration of advanced technologies into a complex system with first time quality.

    • Implementing Technical Independent Reviews (TIRs) and Non-Advocate Reviews (NARs) with approved personnel to ensure technical expertise across the enterprise is engaged as needed.

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

    • 5+ years of experience do you have with systems or software engineering on space-based systems

    • Experience with critical business and financial acumen including risk, issue, and opportunity management to drive performance.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.

    • Minimum 3 years of experience acting as a technical interface with suppliers and subsidiaries.

    • Experience using Program Management Best Practices.

    • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.

    Typical Education & Experience:
    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
