Intern Manufacturing Engineer

BCT is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our BCT Summer in Space Internship Program.  Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university. In addition, applicants must be enrolled fall semester 2023. This will be a full-time position for the summer for approximately 10 weeks, starting at the end of May 2024.

Pay Range: $27.56 - $29.29/hour (Salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Location: Lafayette, CO

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on support for product and process development on Spacecraft and Spacecraft Components
• Work collaboratively with manufacturing and design engineering functions to translate designs into assembly processes and instructions.
• Design fixturing, tooling, and other ground support equipment to support manufacturing and test.
• Investigate manufacturing related defects to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree from a four-year university. Must be working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
• Hands-on skills such as soldering, mechanical assembly, electromechanical integration, 3D printing, machining, etc.

 

Position Details:

• 3-month paid internship
• 40 hours per week
• No relocation assistance

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. This role uses standard laboratory and manufacturing equipment such as computers, electronics test equipment, microscopes, various hand-held tools, and associated office equipment.
