REQUIREMENT

Experienced in flight safety with knowledge of debris risk analysis and regulations for government launches (RCC) and commercial space (FAA) 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quickly come up to speed on FAA licensing requirements and lead a customer facing team of analysts and SMEs through commercial space license applications, manage budget and deliverables.
• Able to regularly interact with both the commercial customer (launch provider) and their regulating entity (FAA).
• Ability to support a variety of projects including research and model development, and programming support where needed.
• Participate in development of research concepts and proposals in the area of flight risk and safety or other domains as may be of interest and provide execution support to funded research efforts.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Experienced ARCTOS safety software such as RRAT & TTK and associated methodologies.
• Some programming and/or scripting experience.
• Strong background in physics. Writing documentation in response to regulatory compliance.
• Able to work in a geographically diverse team and a hybrid in-person/remote work environment.

EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION

• BS in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related major, MS preferred.
• Secret clearance preferred.
• US Citizenship required.
  

PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Primary work environment is a standard office setting.

TRAVEL

• Some travel is required and will be performed will be under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
