Blue Origin is seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Supply Chain to join our rapidly growing organization. As a leader in the aerospace industry, Blue Origin is committed to giving humanity access to the stars and building a future in which millions of people can live and work in space. As part of a hardworking, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for financial and operational results for Blue Origin's Supply Chain. This includes leading a skilled, interdisciplinary team, responsible for production of technologically innovative spaceflight systems. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to communicate the vision, strategy and tactical application of cost effective strategies and key deliverables. You will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Blue Origin's supply chain strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives and growth plans.
  • Oversee all aspects of the supply chain process, including procurement, sourcing, planning, manufacturing, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Optimize routines to ensure delivery of supplies and improve supply chain metrics in terms of cost and service.
  • Partner closely with the Finance organization on cost metrics and the Contracts group on the structure of contracts with suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring the availability of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
  • Implement robust procurement strategies to optimize costs, improve supplier performance, minimize risks, and drive innovation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance, efficiency, and responsiveness while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Lead and develop an impactful team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, finance, and quality, to ensure seamless integration of the supply chain into overall business operations.
  • Monitor industry trends, standard processes, and technological advancements to find opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
  • Develop and lead the supply chain budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, with at least 10+ years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace, aviation, or high-tech manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and driving supply chain strategies, processes, and systems that deliver operational excellence, cost efficiency, and agility.
  • Deep knowledge of procurement, sourcing, planning, manufacturing, logistics, quality management, and inventory control principles and practices.
  • Strong business discernment, with the ability to analyze complex data, make informed decisions, and drive business growth.
  • Consistent track record of successfully managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizations through large-scale change management initiatives that influence culture, define tools & processes and improve proficiencies
  • Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that includes a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance and meet organizational goals.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with collaborators at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices related to supply chain management.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Proven experience with aerospace procurement
  • Applied experiences in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Toyota Production System
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment

Employee Benefits include: Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave (must be employed at time of birth or adoption), short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program available after 1 year of service.

Paid Time Off:  Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays for all regular employees (including part-time), fixed-term, and interns.

Discretionary bonus: Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
