REQUIREMENT
The SMART Manufacturing Manager will provide subject matter expertise in Industry 4.0 technologies, which may include robotics, laser material processing (e.g., welding, micro-machining, additive manufacturing), computer vision and other sensing systems, and digital thread/twin technologies, together facilitating the automation of manufacturing and sustainment processes. This Industry 4.0 subject matter expert (SME) will support the technical strategy and execution for technology workforce development programs, research and development (R&D) projects, and technology/product development efforts, as required.
The ideal candidate should have experience supporting technology and/or product development efforts in research and manufacturing settings supporting both government and commercial customers. A primary focus area will be working within an ARCTOS team to implement, and scale digital manufacturing training and education programs in collaboration with academic and industrial partners in Ohio and beyond. Additional focus areas will include supporting R&D projects to advance or exploit Industry 4.0 technologies to address manufacturing and sustainment challenges facing government agencies and their industrial bases and serving as ARCTOS liaison and working group member to various public-private consortia, as warranted.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support technology roadmapping efforts for Industry 4.0 training and education programs.
- Support technical strategy development for proposed R&D projects serving government and industry.
- Provide subject matter expertise to current and future technology and product development efforts.
- Serve as ARCTOS liaison to selected Manufacturing USA institutes and other public-private consortia.
- Provide guidance and technical support for other relevant business development and proposal activities.
- Support engagement and outreach activities through technical presentations, publications, and marketing.
- Support project management efforts across key projects.
- Support development of written proposals and white papers.
EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION
- US Citizenship with security clearance required.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field and minimum 10 years of professional experience.
- Experience supporting projects requiring integration or application of robotics, laser material processing, and related digital technologies.
- Proven project management expertise.
PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- This position is primarily remote. However, mobility, hearing, and visual abilities to support hands-on manufacturing, education, research, and technology development projects in an industrial environment is required.
TRAVEL
- Travel is anticipated to be around 25% and will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
