Job Description:

Senior Business Development (BD) leader for the Voyager Defense Systems Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) business area who develops New Business Acquisition vision, strategies, and tactical plans, and then executes to drive bookings (sales), increase revenue, and position the business for robust growth in alignment with financial objectives. This person will identify and evaluate expansion of current and new markets, partners, channels, and customers. The role requires a strong technical background and ISR domain experience in order to develop customer trust and relationships, and effectively partner with the internal technical execution team.  The individual must be skilled at both the Strategic level and hands-on independent BD execution in an entrepreneurial environment which includes understanding strategic environment, threats, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements as well as a deep understanding how the customer perceives capability and capacity gaps. This role is a highly visible senior leadership role reporting to the Defense Systems Business Development Executive and supporting the ISR Business VP/GM and CTO.  The individual will be expected to effectively work with and communicate with company executives, customers, project engineers, program managers, finance, contracts, Operations, HR, IT, and security.   

 


Responsibilities: 

 

  • Performance of business development tasking includes and is not limited to tasks below:
  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities in alignment with Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan objectives. Meet or exceed AOP Bookings (Sales) objectives.
  • Builds and manage relationships with customers, suppliers, distributors, partners, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Understand customer missions, requirements, and gaps, and partner with Technical team to apply or develop appropriate solutions.
  • Leads sales, marketing, customer-service, and client relationship effort related to assigned scope.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to guide sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Tracks emerging markets and trends; proposes and develops solutions including new offerings or strategic partnerships to address evolving needs.
  • Fosters an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
  • Provides input to internal research, product development and distribution and promotion strategies.
  • Fulfills requests for information (RFI) / requests for proposals (RFP) requests from potential partners and customers, leads captures and proposals, and smoothly transitions new work to Program Management team.
  • Support and improve Capture and Bid and Proposal Process. Manage within B&P budget. Support ISR Business Area Pipeline generation and reporting.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time with potential for additional spikes or lulls.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
  • 10+ years of DoD Business Development experience which includes 5-10 years Army ISR experience with preference for airborne domain.  Experience can be Technical, Program Management, or Business Development.
  • Held DoD TS clearance within last 5 years, and capable of reinstatement.
  • 10+ years Army SIGINT expertise gained through Military affiliation and/or Defense Industry alignment.
  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling BD presentations including technical content and strong verbal presentation skills. 
  • Experience meeting and developing relationships with prime and DoD ISR/SIGINT customers to include Senior leaders, Technical, Programmatic, and Acquisition/Contracts stakeholders.
  • Experience independently conducting BD Campaigns and Captures, and leading small and large proposals, with documented success in winning new business.

 

Salary Range: $190,000 – $225,000

 

ITAR REQUIREMENT 

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
