REQUIREMENT

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research team working in the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Electronic Materials Branch, performing device and test structure fabrication using ultra-wide bandgap materials for high power and high frequency RF applications.

The position is conditional on final award of contract, with anticipated start in July 2023. Qualified candidates may be eligible for moving expenses and/or signing bonus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Device and test structure fabrication supporting ultra-wide bandgap materials and device research and development:

• Design device and test structures for specific characterization experiments
• Develop process protocols to fabricate devices and test structures using available equipment
• Fabricate devices and test structures

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Experience in one or more of these areas is required:

• Device/test structure fabrication (photolithography, etching, metallization)
• Wire bonding, packaging/fixturing
• Materials processing (wafer sawing/dicing, polishing)
• Ultra-wide bandgap materials/devices 

EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION

• Ph.D. in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or engineering sciences preferred, 
• or B.S. with 3+ years experience in these fields
• U.S. citizenship and must pass a National Agency Check (initiated at time of employment)

PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Primary work environment is a research laboratory or standard office setting.

TRAVEL

• Anticipate up to 10% to attend technical conferences and meetings as required.
