Basic Function:
Under supervision, perform engineering and testing assignments with clear and specified objectives and involves conventional types of plans and specifications. Apply sound engineering judgment. Perform as a technical contributor on projects. Interface with engineering peers, senior engineers, and program managers to receive tasks. Work within a team to promptly complete tasks. Communicate effectively to accomplish assignments and support others in accomplishing their assignments.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform mechanical component design for rocket propulsion systems using CAD models
2. Participate in design reviews
3. Conduct structural and thermal FEA on rocket motor components
4. Prepare engineering drawings
5. Participate in hardware assembly and testing activities
6. Participate in customer meetings and reviews
7. Other related job duties, as assigned.
Experience:
Required: Ten (10) years to 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience
Preferred: Rocket motor design and testing
Education:
Required: Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university.
Skills:
· Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
· Working knowledge of CAD software
· Understanding of finite element analysis
· Possess good communication skills
· Works well in a team atmosphere
· Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as workload changes
· Aptitude for working with mechanical and electrical systems
Other:
· Must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time.
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $132,000.00 - $257,600.00 per year
