Northrop Grumman's Mission Enabling Products organization has an opening for a Maintenance Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Uses a variety of hand/power tools, and shop equipment.

  • Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.

  • Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication and HVAC. 

  • Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.

  • Uses tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.

  • Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

  • Maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, soft soldering and brazing of various metals and pipefitting; perform minor electrical installations and operate and troubleshoot chillers

  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance to the buildings; preventative maintenance on fan coils, air handling units, compressors, autoclaves, ovens and plant machinery and equipment

  • Various small odd jobs, minor pipe repairs, and installations of air, vacuum, and drainage systems; drive company vans, trucks or cars to load, haul and move equipment

  • Complete Facilities Service Requests as assigned by Department Manager  

  • Responsible for observing all laws, codes, federal, state and local regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company;

  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional related experience in Facilities Maintenance

  • Basic knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the maintenance field

  • Troubleshooting / repairing machinery and equipment

  • Ability to work from heights (ladders, scaffold, lifts)

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to install and uninstall (lift) devices weighing 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preventive maintenance database experience

  • Carpentry (rough and or finish), furniture repair

  • Drywall installation and repair

  • Painting and striping

  • Installation and repair of door hardware

  • Boom lift, forklift and scissor lift experience

  • Pallet jack (manual and motorized)

Salary Range: $68,600.00 - $114,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
