Thales Alenia Space Competence Center Ground Software, Cyber & Simulation Engineering, is looking for a Junior Software Engineer based in Rome.
The successful candidate will be inserted in a team which specifies, designs, develops and qualifies ground software for in orbit Radar Payloads Mission Planner. The tasks will include:
- Mainly the development (Coding) of mission planning operational software, based on a modern cloud-hosted micro services architecture, leveraging on technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and on methodologies such as CI/CD and Agile.
- Contribute to the design, implementation and execution of SW automated testing based on Python Robot Framework.
- Contribute to writing of technical documentation.
- Participate to technical meeting (internal and with customer)
- Contribute to study and identification mission planning techniques for large satellites constellation management in a multi-mission environment, exploiting metaheuristic and/or machine learning/deep learning methods
Profile:
REQUIRED:
- Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Knowledge of object programming (C++), Python
- Knowledge of software design methodology
- Fluent English, spoken and written
- Availability to travel.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Rust, Docker and Kubernetes, Microservices architecture, Javascript (for front-end), GitLab, HTTP server development frameworks (Flask library preferred)
- knowledge of metaheuristic and/or machine learning/deep learning methods
Knowledge of earth observation satellites working principles
