Reporting to the Senior Manager of Protocol & Events for Lockheed Martin Space, this position will oversee the strategic planning, development and execution of trade shows and events designed to promote and enhance customer relationships. This individual will lead a team of trade show and events professionals who manage a dynamic portfolio of highly visible, highly complex events across the globe to promote a one-company presence at trade shows. This individual and their team will develop critical relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of trade shows and events, working to maximize impact within the assigned budget.
The Trade Show Manager will be responsible for ensuring trade shows and events are executed on time and on budget and strategically aligned to business objectives. The ideal candidate will stay aligned to business priorities and industry developments and bring a data-driven and innovative approach to the team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of efforts. In addition, the manager will have a solid understanding of trade show and event management, budget management and industry-leading trends. The ideal candidate is a proven leader who has experience managing and working on a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage trade show and events operations for Space including scheduling, budgeting and staffing
• Provide vision, leadership and direction for direct reports to ensure all trade shows and events are executed on time and within budget
• Ability to build both strategic and tactical plans that drive perceptions and deliver key messages
• Partner with Brand Communications and Visual Communications to ensure all deliverables meet the trade show branding standards and promote a coordinated Space and OneLM story when applicable
• Collaborate and foster trusted relationships with Strategy and Business Development leaders across Space to ensure trade shows are aligned to business priorities
• Drive customer engagement through impactful exhibits and associated events
• Lead team members in the execution of exhibit booths, including: ensuring all accompanying graphics, models, multimedia displays and technology demonstrations are coordinated with internal stakeholders and external vendors; working with show organizers, vendors and contractors for planning and execution; coordinating exhibit presence and negotiate pricing, packages and on-site activities
• Develop and maintain other business relationships with key stakeholders, including Security, Facilities, Finance and external vendors
• Lead and/or provide guidance to senior leadership on trade shows and other special events
• Train and develop high-performing trade show and events talent
• Up to 20% travel, both domestic and international
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education; or Masters degree equivalent experience/combined education
• Proven team leadership experience
• Familiarity with the trade show industry
• Events producer with broad range of experience in a variety of trade show, events, and protocol disciplines
• Proven project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Motivated self-starter who performs without appreciable direction and works effectively under competing priorities and tight deadlines
Desired Skills:
• Quick study with an attention to detail and a sense of urgency
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Exceptional writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways
• A track record of collaborating with a number of diverse stakeholders
• Dependable self-starter who drives accuracy and quality of work within the trade show team
• Ability to multitask, adapt and work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and work well under pressure with stakeholders at all levels
• Strategic mindset with experience delivering business results
• Experience with inventory management processes and systems
• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin's business or experience in the aerospace industry

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $96,700 - $185,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
