SUMMARY:  Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Electrical Test Engineer who will primarily be responsible for testing electronics used on the Axiom Space Station. This position reports to the Electrical Test Manager.  This role is onsite and will be based at our ASTC facility.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and execute test plans and analysis for single event effect and total ionizing dose.
  • Perform testing to characterize parts and assemblies for function and environment.
  • Conduct radiated, conducted, and susceptibility EMC/EMI testing.
  • Assist in developing test plans, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Maintain high standards of safety during all phases of testing.
  • Support milestone reviews such as PDR, CDR, and SDR
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in electronics testing or a combined equivalent of education and experience
  • Strong background in electronics and laboratory testing experience (experience with radiation testing is a plus).
  • Experience with various test environments (LabView, automated lab equipment, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PCB design for component testing
  • Ability to identify failures in radiation testing and knowledge on how to mitigate common failure mechanisms induced by ionizing radiation
  • Familiarity with common data and power protocols (1553, 422, I2C, USB, etc).
  • Familiarity with lab test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)

 

Essential Functions

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

 

Requirements 

  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
