Job Summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for a Lead Principal/Sr. Principal Integration and Test Electrical Engineer to be part of our Integration (Build) and Test team in Launch Vehicles at our Chandler, AZ facility.

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will serve as a Lead Integration and Test Electrical Engineer (Principal/Sr. Principal) for the GPI Program, requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Daily responsibilities may require direct contact with sensitive launch vehicle flight hardware and ground support equipment. The candidate may be expected to help develop, plan and/or perform integration and testing activities associated with the assembly of flight hardware, testing of assembled systems and components, or execution/support of live fire tests (static and/or flight) at various facilities or launch ranges. Specific duties may include:

  • Leading hands-on electrical testing at a system level
  • Establish LV system tools to be used for program execution
  • Developing/maintaining procedures
  • Incorporating hardware design changes
  • Developing/planning/coordinating testing and/or integration activities
  • Coordinating with suppliers and procurement office
  • Complying with strict aerospace standards
  • Supporting live fire static testing and flight test events
  • Planning and scheduling day-to-day tasks
  • Cross functionally leading, training & tasking other team members
  • Documenting/dispositioning hardware discrepancies
  • Asserting producibility and testability concepts into early design phases

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Principal: 5 Years with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; 3 Years with Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
    • Sr. Principal: 9 Years with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; 7 Years with Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
    • (a degree in Aerospace Engineering is also acceptable)
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for travel
  • Candidate must currently have ACTIVE DoD Secret level security clearance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer community
  • Ability to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and lead small projects or teams
  • Ability to travel: Travel expectation 25%
  • Experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
  • Experience with external customer interfacing including meetings, presentations & negotiations
  • Experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD software
  • Experience working with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles
  • Experience leading/training other engineers and/or team members
  • Basic electrical testing and diagnostic experience

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience performing formal requirements decomposition and/or verification
  • CAM certification and/or experience
  • Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering background
  • Extensive experience with aerospace standards/guidelines
  • Extensive experience with external customer interfacing including meetings, presentations & negotiations
  • Extensive experience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systems
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with CAD software
  • Extensive experience working with design, integration, or testing of launch vehicles
  • Extensive experience leading/training other engineers and/or team members
  • Extensive electrical testing and diagnostic experience

Salary Range: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00Salary Range 2: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
