Job Summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an engineer or technician for a multi-faceted role supporting the GQM-163A Program.  The role will be part of our Integration and Test group supporting Field operations management, direct operations support, and logistical support to the Point Mugu Sea Range (PMSR) and stationed at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), Pt. Mugu, CA.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Attending Navy-led meetings to baseline operational priorities and schedules.
  • Coordinate material requirements and movements with Navy PTMO and TPO Logistics.
  • Coordinate Launch Control Equipment status with Navy TPO engineering.
  • Make frequent trips to San Nicolas Island (SNI) via Navy contractor shuttle for ordnance signoff, consumable disposal, material movements, and to participate in target build activities when schedules dictate. 
  • Directly support GQM-163A operations at SNI, when necessary.
  • Participate in Range Interface Verification Checks (RIVC) at Pt. Mugu.
  • Coordinate with target payload support organizations during build and test.
  • Coordinate SNI Assembly Building schedules with Range and Launch Services scheduling.
  • Maintain GQM-163A HazMat locker at SNI and make handoffs to Navy for disposal.
  • Perform post-launch inventories of equipment & consumables, perform periodic inventory of flight hardware and supporting Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
  • Provide weekly status report of actions and emerging issues.
  • Lead and participate in Field process improvement initiatives for launch operations and logistics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years, or Master’s and 7 years’ experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries
  • Ability to obtain a clearance

Salary Range: $126,800.00 - $189,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
