Bookkeeper/Accountant

Currently, we are seeking a skilled bookkeeper/accountant to contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment.

In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in realizing our objectives and supporting the sustainable, rapid growth of our startup. The ideal candidate should have a high level of attention to detail, a strong understanding of GAAP-compliant accrual accounting standards, and familiarity with financial reporting best practices. Effective communication across multidisciplinary teams is crucial, as you will collaborate closely with project managers on matters such as purchasing and expense management.

This position requires in-person presence at least four days a week; located in Arvada, CO.

Job Responsibilities

• Support purchasing activities including creating purchase orders and recording bills
• Track inbound purchase orders and manage customer invoicing activities
• Manage payroll activities including time sheet support and the bi-weekly payroll process
• Support the expense reporting process and categorization of spending activity
• Support the filing of state and local sales tax remittances
• Generate historical financial reports and calculate key operating metrics
• Interface with outside accounting firms in support of tax and payroll activities
• Participate in special projects, ad hoc reporting, and other general accounting-related duties as needed from time-to-time

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills with proven financial acumen
• Strong understanding of GAAP-compliant accrual accounting practices
• Knowledge of financial reporting and forecasting best practices
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
• US Person

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in similar role in the aerospace industry and/or a technology startup environment
• Experience working with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and/or Unanet
• Experience using BI software such as Microsoft Power BI
• Understanding of DCAA-compliant recordkeeping practices
