About the role
The role of the Launch Technician - Electrical is key to enabling LC-1 in delivering launches at the highest rate of any launch site in the world.
You will be working with a tight-knit team of technicians and engineers to build, test and maintain critical launch systems.
Essential skills
- Current NZ electrical licence
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Computer literate and able to understand basic programming
- Proven ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings and instructions
- A high level of attention to detail
- Capable of working under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Team player with a willingness to do what needs to be done when it needs doing along with a willingness to step outside skill set to learn and/or assist when required.
- Confidence in skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills with the ability to represent Rocket Lab within the local community and to build strong long-term relationships
- Excellent problem-solving skills and capable of using your own initiative
Desired Skills
- Previous experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns
- Previous experience in heavy commercial or industrial environment
- Experience and strong understanding of Instrumentation and control systems
- Experience using LabView or comparable User Interface
- Experience with data systems and equipment
- Experience with maintenance and repair of generators and UPS Systems
- Understanding of fluid systems - pneumatic, cryogenic and/or hydraulics preferred
- Computer literate and able to understand basic programming
- First Aid Qualifications
