Maxar is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Space Engineering team in Westminster, CO.

Your Project: Our team within the Space Engineering team is responsible for defining and managing the development and deployment of the Maxar Mission Control System including: real-time command and control, data processing and distribution, data archiving, subsystem analysis tools, ground resource scheduling, and image meta-data systems. In this role, you will be a cross-functional team member, acting both as an integral member of the technical program and project execution within Space Engineering and as a conduit to the Enterprise Program Team. In this role, you will achieve program and project level deliverables, with a focus on the WorldView Legion Program. You will require both a technical understanding and engagement, while interfacing and reporting to enterprise peers. You will support OASIS/Space Engineering projects and overall program efforts throughout the ground software and hardware development lifecycle to include support of proposal, high level design, program kickoff, development, test, operational readiness and deploy to operations. You will also provide initiative management support for Mission Ops-embedded initiative lead(s).

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
- Take the lead as a key project and program manager for Space Engineering initiatives to execute on sustainment and new development requests – with a focus on WorldView Legion Program
- Closely engage with Space Engineering and Maxar program teams in an agile SCRUM environment
- Lead and/or participate in processes including initiating, organizing, integrating, planning, managing, developing and completing projects or programs
- Track schedule, financial budget forecasting, and earned value management
- Report on performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders in coordination with overarching program efforts
- Develop and execute on project plans to achieve technical, schedule, cost and quality commitments
- Establish and drive project objectives, goals, and schedules while providing direction to the team in areas of stakeholder concerns, potential changes in scope and risk assessment
- Utilize leadership skills to coordinate the activities of resources on cross-functional teams, ensuring proper communication while keeping internal management and stakeholders informed of key programmatic issues
- Prepare various program status reports, including technical, schedule and risk status, estimate-to-complete with risk analysis/mitigation plans and resource loading needs
Minimum requirements for this position:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
- Minimum of 5 years combined relevant industry experience in program management, functional management, or technical leadership
- Demonstrated success in space and defense industry, the military or equivalent type of commercial industry
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite including MS Project
These skills would be amazing:
- Active U.S. Government security clearance
- PMP certification
- Experience with JIRA issue tracking software
- Agile development and/or SCRUM experience
- SharePoint experience
- Software and hardware development and integration experience
- Familiarity with requirements driven design
- Excellent cross-functional skills across multiple technical domains
- Complete and thorough understanding and experience in the complete life-cycle management of software development
- Excellent collaboration, communication (both verbal and written), and facilitation skills across a broad range of roles
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work multiple tasks at the same time and possess a strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision making
- Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
