Our satellites, which operate from geostationary orbit (GEO), weigh only 400 kg and utilize a proprietary software-defined radio payload. Each satellite can connect over two million people, and we’re very excited for the impact we’ll soon have in the Philippines, Peru, Mexico, and more!

Corporate Counsel
Astranis is seeking a Corporate Counsel who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives. This is a unique opportunity to join a lean legal team which will give you wide ownership and the experience of supporting multiple functions of the business that will directly contribute to our mission of global connectivity.
In this role, you will participate in driving high-profile cross-functional initiatives across the business involving a variety of complex legal and regulatory issues relating to third party risk management.Our ideal person exhibits sharp analytical and communication skills, that is diligent, proactive, collaborative, and curious.
Role
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including supply chain/vendor agreements, purchase orders, service agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other bespoke agreements.
- Build out and iterate on playbooks, resources, FAQs and related guidelines/standard agreements.
- Identify and execute general process improvements to help drive legal department efficiency
- Own the NDA process, including refreshing templates, establishing escalation points, and creating streamlined processes to speed up the NDA lifecycle
- Help drive corporate governance matters for multiple legal entities, including powers of attorney, formation documents, and intercompany agreements
- Play a key role in managing Astranis’ export compliance programs, undertaking special projects and other compliance support initiatives
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 2-4 years of attorney experience; a mix of regulatory, law, firm, and/or in-house experience is a plus
- Fluency translating legal advice into strategic, actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and high attention to detail without sacrificing sense of urgency
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively with minimal supervision
- Issue-spotting and problem-solving skills. and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
