Corporate Counsel

Astranis is seeking a Corporate Counsel who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives. This is a unique opportunity to join a lean legal team which will give you wide ownership and the experience of supporting multiple functions of the business that will directly contribute to our mission of global connectivity.

In this role, you will participate in driving high-profile cross-functional initiatives across the business involving a variety of complex legal and regulatory issues relating to third party risk management.Our ideal person exhibits sharp analytical and communication skills, that is diligent, proactive, collaborative, and curious.

Role

Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including supply chain/vendor agreements, purchase orders, service agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and other bespoke agreements.
Build out and iterate on playbooks, resources, FAQs and related guidelines/standard agreements.
Identify and execute general process improvements to help drive legal department efficiency
Own the NDA process, including refreshing templates, establishing escalation points, and creating streamlined processes to speed up the NDA lifecycle
Help drive corporate governance matters for multiple legal entities, including powers of attorney, formation documents, and intercompany agreements
Play a key role in managing Astranis’ export compliance programs, undertaking special projects and other compliance support initiatives

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
2-4 years of attorney experience; a mix of regulatory, law, firm, and/or in-house experience is a plus
Fluency translating legal advice into strategic, actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams
Strong written and oral communication skills, and high attention to detail without sacrificing sense of urgency
Ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively with minimal supervision
Issue-spotting and problem-solving skills. and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

What we offer:

Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, performance bonuses, high quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals.

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.

Base Salary

$140,000—$170,000 USD
