Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Process Development Co-op . This position begins onsite January 2022 and runs through August 2022. (This is not a summer internship)
You will benefit from working side by side with a talented and experienced group of professionals eager to mentor. Day to day activities can involve significant interaction with various functional groups such as Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering and Manufacturing, allowing for additional broad learning opportunities.
A relocation/housing allowance is offered to those who meet the eligibility requirements. Students are responsible for securing their own housing if needed.
Position Overview:
As a Process Development Spring Co-op, you will be:
- Responsible for conducting tests for optical grinding and polishing processes, including writing, monitoring, and documenting test parameters and results.
- Expected to become familiar with and execute simple metrology tests in support of the process development effort.
- Challenged and coached with a diverse technical team. There will be a steep learning curve, but it will come with the guidance required to facilitate that learning.
Experience/Preferred Skills/Competencies:
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Exposure/experience in Matlab, CAD/3D modeling software
- Exposure to courses in STEM, data analysis software preferred
- Experience analyzing data
- The individual is expected to have some lab experience, be comfortable working in a lab-type environment, have a good understanding of properly executing the scientific method, and be driven to succeed
- It is desirable, but not at all required, for the individual to have experience or knowledge of optical manufacturing and testing
Education:
- Must be pursuing a degree in either an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) or another STEM discipline (Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, etc.)

This position requires the incumbent to access export-controlled information. If you are not a US Person, any offer is contingent upon the Company's ability to obtain a special license granting you access. This could take several months.
