Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior/Principal Flight Test Operations Trainer. This position will be located in Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA and will support the Sentinel – Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
This position will be permanently located in Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB) with occasional travel to Roy, Utah.
Essential Functions:
• Develop, help manage, and train ICBM launch crews who will perform system-level tests for flight test on the Sentinel (GBSD) System
• Develop, perform, and document tests, including test planning, test conduction, data analysis and documenting test results as part of the Flight Test Team
• Help develop, evaluate, and update technical procedures
• Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness and compliance of the test program
• Direct and maintain strict adherence to safe missile command and control procedures
• This position will occasionally help cover 24/7 shifts as part of ICBM flight test preparation and execution activities
• Create technical reports and present test and analysis results
• Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for systems
• Coordinate integrated testing activities working in a dynamic people-focused environment
• Interface with internal and external customers

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Principal Engineer Systems Test
• Bachelor's degree in science w/5 years of experience; or 3 Years with Masters, 0 Years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
• Experience in ICBM Command and Control/Operations
• Experience teaching/instructing, especially in technical tasks
Senior Principal Engineer Systems Test
• Bachelor's degree in science w/9 years of experience; or 7 Years with Masters, 4 Years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• US Citizenship with an Active Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
• Experience in ICBM Command and Control/Operations
• Experience teaching/instructing, especially in technical tasks
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Master's degree or higher from a STEM accredited institution
• US Citizenship with an Active Top-Secret Clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) with the ability to receive a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
• 3-5 years ICBM Operations experience
• ICBM flight test experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills; works well in a team environment within all levels of the test integrated team structure
• Experience leading a team in project execution and/or driving performance against schedule
• MS Office tools experience

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,400.00Salary Range 2: $117,700.00 - $176,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
