Job description
As an Applications Engineer in Machining you will own all aspects of manufacturing spacecraft components, set up production cells, and take products from development test articles to high volume production. Responsibilities
- Own all aspects of spacecraft component manufacturing from product inception to high volume production
- Install advanced CNC machining work centers and develop processes for prototype, test and flight hardware
- Work with the design and development teams to produce highly reliable, cost-efficient components
- Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions
- Grow your experience in numerous manufacturing fields to advance in house production capabilities and forge our path through space
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science
- 2+ year(s) of experience with CNC machines.
- 2+ year(s) of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Understanding of machining terminology, best practices, and general machine controls
- Demonstrated ability of taking project ownership and working well in small teams
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with CNC mills, live tool lathes, and 5-axis machines
- Familiarity with CAM software (Fusion 360, Mastercam, or equivalent)
- Excited to setup, work on and manufacture hardware on the shop floor. Develop production processes from the ground up including driving design improvements for manufacturing
- Self-starter able to identify problems and implement solutions with limited supervision
- Hands on experience with basic fabrication tools and processes (electric/pneumatic power tools, manual lathes/mills, calipers, etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD software (NX or equivalent), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and work holding design and analysis Prior experience working in a fast-paced agile product development environment
- Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
