In this role you will:
- work on an innovative team to provide bug fixes, enhancements, and Graphical User Interface (GUI) improvements to applications to meet operational requirements.
- Develop and modify application source code, in response to new requirements and requests for change.
- Develop and deploy software, including in cloud environments.
- Integrate externally developed code into core libraries.
- Install and configure application software.
- Evaluate third party vendors and software partners
- Maintain design of software libraries, including the definition of module APIs, code organization, and compliance in coding standards.
- Work with the configuration manager to ensure the integration of externally developed software into core software libraries
- Assisting the Sponsor in developing specific standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality release or release readiness
- Conduct testing at all levels of the software development life cycle, to include regression testing, and adhere to strict testing procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience working with a Linux operating system and bash shell scripts.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with Python, Java, or Ruby software development.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with FOSS/COTS integration.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience in a virtualized infrastructure (e.g., VMware, AWS, Proxmox, Google Cloud Platform).
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with tools and technologies such as Ansible, Jenkins, CloudFormation, Containerization.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience working with PKI certificates, encryption protocols, SSL/TLS.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with data exchange formats including JSON and XML.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience preparing required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience communicating with both technical and non-technical individuals and working on a team.
- Good understanding of data transfer protocols like FTP, SFTP, TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, QUIC
Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with external authentication methods (e.g., LDAP, Active Directory).
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with data encryption within a secure environment.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with JIRA.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with configuring and developing in an AWS environment.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience with SQL
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience using Agile software development methodologies and participation on an Agile software or systems engineering team.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience building application workflows with Apache ActiveMQ or Apache NiFi
