Job description

The business development team’s role is to win business for Impulse Space’s orbital transfer and hosting products. This role is  tasked with initiating and closing US Government business. While you’ll have technical and marketing support in proposal development, this role is intended for a highly motivated individual contributor who believes they can create a substantial impact on Impulse’s government business prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Identify target government programs and key decisionmakers
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, a crisp understanding of their needs, and a thesis on why we can win their business
  • Lead government business development in target identification, proposal generation, negotiation and closing
  • Be a trusted, respected ambassador for the company in forums ranging from trade conferences to meetings with high-ranking government officials

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the US Government’s proposal and contracting processes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, initiate, and close government contracts
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical teams for proposal development
  • Must be able to travel as needed (20-40%)
  • 5+ years' of demonstrated sales experience within the aerospace field or related industries

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Advanced degree in a technical field and/or an MBA
  • Familiarity and experience with one or more of the following: government responsive space programs; government satellite applications in geosynchronous and cis-lunar orbits; NRO or other government earth observation programs; MEO/GEO/beyond space situational awareness programs

Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.


To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
