As part of Space Mobility R&D, you will architect and develop analysis tools and algorithms to augment the suite of mission-planning tools for trajectory analysis, maneuver scheduling, and constellation planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create analysis tools to perform trajectory design, optimization, and dispersion analysis
  • Develop highly reliable and performant GNC algorithms, simulations, tools, services, and dashboards using C++ or Python
  • Develop new mission analysis capabilities for rendezvous and proximity operations
  • Lead development into new algorithms, processes, and tools
  • Develop additional modules to current tools to optimize performance and runtime
  • Write high quality technical documentation of programs, algorithms, or analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 2+ years in a software engineering role.
  • 2+ years of experience with Python and Python based development frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience working directly on engineering or scientific computing problems
  • Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, including low thrust trajectory optimization and station keeping
  • Demonstrated experience in verifying GNC algorithm performance via simulation, and validation of the simulation's models
  • Experience implementing optimization algorithms
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere
    • Knowledge of:
    • Advance orbit dynamics (N-Body Problem)
    • Analytical and numerical methods
    • Optimization techniques
    • System dynamics and controls analysis
    • Propulsion systems

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience implementing machine learning or AI algorithms
  • Demonstrated project or professional experience in launch vehicle and/or spacecraft systems.
