Controls Engineering is an organization within FBM that facilitates control of the missile through servo actuators, gas hydraulic systems and small rocket motors.
We are a community of engineers looking for a dependable project engineer to join our tight-knit group. The Mechanical Controls group is an organization within FBM that is responsible for the design and production support of the systems that control the missile both before and after boost. This position is for the inert hardware Integrated Product Team Deputy Lead in the Post Boost Control System (PBCS) IPT that both collaborates well in a team environment and has excellent communication skills. In this role, you will have numerous opportunities to represent the PBCS Inerts IPT with our Navy partner, LM leadership, and suppliers, with many opportunities for career development along the way. The PBCS Inerts IPT is responsible for the development, manufacture, and management of the PBCS inert components which is an attitude control and propulsive subsystem controlling the missile in a phase of the flight.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to join our team for the modernization of the PBCS. Currently we are proposing the SRR and PDR phase of development. As a member of our team, you will be empowered to develop the future architecture of the PBCS and determine the vision for its development. Upon award of the proposal contract, this position is set to transition into a project lead for the proposed effort and you will be able to execute the plan you helped develop.

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in mechanical design
- Any combination of experience in: engineering project management, supplier management, annual budget proposals, technical evaluations, tracking and development of cost/schedule
- Exposure to or participation with any of the following - failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action disposition
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
- Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience

- Experience with FBM processes and products
- Experience with aerospace manufacturing
- Experience in gas/fluid dynamics or energetics/propellants

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
