Lockheed Martin is looking for a dynamic, dedicated Chief Engineer to support our Minuteman III (MMIII) Program Area under the Advanced Strategic Programs (ASP) mission area. The MMIII Program Office and Engineering effort is performed in Ogden, Utah and Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

The individual will lead a diverse team of multidisciplinary engineers to provide Sustainment support to the U.S. Air Force (USAF) for the MMIII system. MMIII is composed of numerous programs/activities including flight hardware refurbishment/repair, Service STAR testing, Closed Loop Failure Analysis, development of new design of replacement factory and field test sets using LM Core, field support equipment maintenance.

The individual will be the MMIII Chief Engineer who will lead the LM technical team and work with the AF customer to develop, plan, and execute technical work in the following areas:
• Electrical and Mechanical hardware design, analysis and test (flight hardware and support equipment)
• Flight Hardware and Support Equipment maintenance, sustainment and refurbishment, to include troubleshooting and failure analysis
• Assessment of flight environments, including random vibration, shock, and aerothermal environments
• Flight dynamics and system effectiveness
• Nuclear hardness and survivability
• Nuclear safety
• Reentry System and Reentry Vehicle design
• Requirements development and update
• Flight test preparations and post-flight data evaluation
• Warhead interface with NNSA and DOE
• Evolution and maturation of analytical simulation capabilities
• Hardware fabrication and test
• Field Support
• Specialty engineering concerns, including EMI, materials, corrosion, etc.
• Logistics considerations, including Tech Orders and WSA activities
• Coordination with other ASP programs, including Sentinel and MK21A EMD
• Collaboration with the AF and DOE communities

The individual will attend and participate in TIMs, PMRs, joint DOD/DOE meetings, flight test reviews, and other meetings with government and CETA personnel to provide weapon system expertise and knowledge transfer in support of customer goals.

The individual will direct the technical activities of the MMIII team, to include development of specific tasking in the aforementioned areas, leading execution of the efforts, and reviewing final work products prior to delivery to the AF. The individual will also be responsible for mentoring and developing technical talent in key technical and engineering leadership capacities.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combine education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment
• Significant technical experience with demonstrated expertise in systems integration, engineering, and/or test of complex systems
• A minimum of 5 years of proven team leadership experience in systems design and development, including responsibility for missile, space, launch system, command and control, and/or other similar applications.
• Experience with USAF Minuteman III Sustainment programs or similar Reentry Vehicle or Reentry Systems programs, Reentry Vehicles (RV) and/or support equipment
• Experience leading a team, coordinating across programs, and interfacing with USAF and DoD customers
• Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and decision-making skills
• Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret
Desired Skills:
• Experience with RV Electrical hardware design, analysis, and test (flight hardware and support equipment)
• Experience with RV Mechanical hardware design, analysis, and test (flight hardware and support equipment)
• Experience with ICBM Flight test
• Experience with nuclear effects, such as hardness and survivability
• Experience with ICBM logistics, including Tech Orders and WSA activities
• Active Top Secret clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
