The Role

AMERGINT is seeking a RF Test Technician. In this important role, you will be working on the set up and conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of subsystem assemblies and/or board level products. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO

Core Responsibilities

  • Set up and conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability of subsystem assemblies and/or board level products
  • Conduct functional Level Board Test utilizing software-controlled test platforms in MS Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity testing RF circuit card assemblies
  • Ability to read, understand and write test procedures
  • Compile test data and reports from performed testing and review test results with engineers.
  • Report bugs and observations to the bug-reporting tool (Jira), providing information to recreate the issue or abnormality observed
  • Ability to read and understand technical schematics, drawings, parts list, wire run list, specifications, and assembly instructions
  • Analytical and pragmatic approach to evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair electronic assemblies to the component level on circuit card assemblies
  • Proficient with the use of Programming EPROMS, Huntron Tracker, Multi-Layer Shorts Locator, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Frequency Analyzers, Multimeters, Bit Error Test Set and Test Fixtures
  • Perform basic hardware installation/removal tasks using screwdrivers or other small hand tools as may be required before and after testing.
  • Soldering skills and ability to do precision work
  • May provide support to product engineering to ensure product is created to engineering specifications
  • Must be team oriented, but capable and willing to work independently when required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Required Skills

  • Electrical Engineering and Tech Associates Degree (AAS) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school plus 7+ years related experience; or non-degreed with 9+ years of related experience and/or training
  • IPC J-STD-001 Standard for Soldering certified a plus
  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Experience in prototype and testing of electronic assemblies
  • Experience in electronic test techniques, equipment, troubleshooting and repairing of PCBs to the component level
  • Experience with defect reporting tools and process (Atlassian tool set a plus)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.

 Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen to instructions, operate tools with hands and arms, remain stationary for 50% of the time, move between work stations, reach and replace equipment, and move items weighing up to 30 lbs.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
